Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint

This is yet another Rimmel product review!! Sorry Everyone :)
This one is another great product but to be  honest I already have a very similar product, which does the same job and is practically the same colour as well, so really I didn't need this product but you know I obviously "had" to try it anyway!!

These are the new Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paints which come in 5 shades, I got the one in Rich Russets which is a lovely golden taupe colour. These are great used as bases for shadows because they seriously do not budge. They are waterproof and crease proof and apparently last for 8 hours!!

Every brand seems to be bringing out these stay on all day type of cream shadows and once you have a few colours from one brand there really isn't any point in buying anymore unless a certain brand bring out an amazingly beautiful shade which in this case Rimmel haven't they are all just similar to the Maybelline 24hr Tatoo ones which I already have.

I think if you don't have any waterproof cream shadows then these are great to try, but really they are no better and no worst than all the other products of the same nature out there.
These in my opinion, bearing in mind I already own a wide range of the Maybelline 24hr ones, are a waste of money and to be honest I think Rimmel are slightly behind the times here!!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner Review

Rimmel is my favourite drugstore brand and whenever they bring out new products I am straight in Boots buying them!!
This works out very expensive but too be honest it is very rare that I am not really impressed with the Rimmel products I purchase and this product is no different, it is another really great product from Rimmel.
I have been using the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner recently and I love it but it can be quite time consuming especially in the morning when I'm rushing getting ready for work, so this eyeliner which is more like a felt tip pen is really handy and easy to apply.
It has a 3D tip so you can choose whether you want a thick or a thin liner and I also find it great to use the thin side to get into the corner of my eyes then the thicker side to wing it out.
I find this really easy to use and on nights out I love using my gel eyeliner but then I pop this in my handbag and use it for touch ups. Plus this is waterproof so if you used your gel eyeliner then went over the top with this then it will not go anywhere all day/night!!
I am saying use this over the top of your gel eyeliner because I don't find this black enough for me. I like quite a strong liner especially at night and this on it's own just isn't pigmented enough but over the top of another more highly pigmented liner it will just hold everything in place. Although in the day when you don't want such a strong eye this is great.

There is a downside to this product and I'm not sure if it is just mine or not but I find that it is very dry as if it is going to run out soon, like a felt tip pen does, but that can't be as I only got it the other day. This may also be the cause of the colour pay off not being great and the only thing I can think of is that I have picked up one that was used to test in the store.
Let me know if you have tried this and what you thought.

Max Factor Wild Mega Volume

I would like to start by saying I think I am in the minority with my opinions of this mascara. I haven't heard very good things about it at all so when I picked this up I really wasn't expecting anything special at all.
But to my surprise and probably to you reading this I actually really liked this mascara!!!
This is my first ever Max Factor mascara and if this is the worst of them (according to most people) I can't wait to try some others from this brand.

I normally use two mascaras anyway, one for lengthening my lashes and one for adding volume to them and I found this mascara particularly good at adding volume to my already separated and curled lashes.
Most drugstore mascaras do take alot of work, you have to add layers upon layers to get the desired effect and this one is no different but in the end the mascara does it's job!!
I find the wand quite chunky so it isn't great at separating the lashes and can go quite clumpy but if you are using this as a "top coat" mascara I think it is great.

This technique can also save you money, I use a more expensive mascara to do the ground work and make my lashes look long then use a cheaper mascara to add that volume to the roots.
I wouldn't say I would repurchase this mascara but to be honest it takes alot for me to do that anyway because I like to try new things so the only mascara I actually buy again and again is my forever loved Benefit They're Real!!

Loreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution Review

I have wanted to try the ever so famous Bio- Derma for a long time now and I just can't get my hands on a bottle so when I heard that Loreal had brought out a dupe I was very excited!!
I am already on my second bottle of this, I pick mine up from Asda and it is £2.50 and even though this is a drugstore dupe I still think that is a really good price, but at the end of the day all it is is glorified water!!

I use this every night to remove my make up then I cleanse with my Emma Hardy Cleansing Balm as I don't like using that to remove my make up. I used to use wipes to remove my make up after listening to Caroline Hirons I decided to change my skin care routine quite dramatically.

So this was one new product in my routine I use two cotton wool pads and soak them in the solution, I use one for my face and one for my eyes. It just seems to dissolve my make up away really gently and effectively. It isn't harsh on my eyes and if you just hold the pad down on your eyes for a few seconds it softens the make up and when you wipe it away it comes off without vigorously scrubbing at your eyes.

This product is a great alternative to face wipes as these just seems to wipe the make up and dirt round your face whereas this seems to pick up all the impurities from the skin. It makes your skin real really clean and soft and for this price I can't complain about anything at all!!

MUA - Pro Base Makeup Fixing Mist Review

I am becoming quite a regular at the MUA counter in Superdrug, I love the price of all the products, It means I can buy things just to try them out and not feel guilty because they are only a few pounds even if they don't work!
I have the Undress Me Too Palette which I love, I love the Undress Me Foundation and one of their £1 lipsticks even made it into my Top 5 Summer Lipsticks!!
Don't get me wrong I have tried a few products from MUA that haven't been too great but like I say with the low prices you can check out a wide range of products from the brand and see what works for you without breaking the bank.
This product is quite expensive for MUA, but in the grand scheme of things it's £5 and if you can compare that with an Urban Decay Fixing Spray or a MAC one it is a cut of the price and to be honest I think it does a similar job.
I find it really hard to know if any fixing spray is actually working, or if it's my primer or just my foundation that is lasting well on my face. But I can say that on days when I don't use this my foundation seems to slip off more easy especially in this heat!!
I use this once in the morning to set my make up and then I do use it in the day just to keep everything in place. The smell is really nice and while the weather has been so hot and I work in a stuffy office I have been using it as a freshening up spray too.
I think it is a great fixing spray for the price and I really don't believe a fixing spray does enough in my opinion to warrant buying one any more expensive.
Please let me know if you have a great Fixing Mist that actually makes you think wow this has actually helped keep my make up on!!

My Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

As I said in my Top 5 Summer Nail Polishes post , I love to brighten up my outfits with vibrant nails and lips as I just can not pull off a bright eye shadow! So I thought as I let you know my favourite nail varnishes it was only fair to share my lipsticks too.

I have a lot of lipsticks and this post became a very difficult task when it actually came to having to choose my favourites, I just have so many so I trie to choose a range of colours, finishes and brands.

I very rarely wear a red shade on my lips because I just can't find one that doesn't wash me out completely, I have a cool undertone to my skin so I find red very hard to wear. I love pink shades going from baby pinks to fuchsia pinks I love them all as you will probably be able to see !!

1. Rimmel Kate Shade 20 - I love all Rimmel lipsticks but this is my favourite I love wearing it to brighten up a lbd.

2. MUA Shade 15 Juicy - This is a lovely light coral shade I love the colour and it was only £1 but the MUA lipsticks can be quite drying so I have to wear a gloss over the top.

3. Mac Crème Cup - This is a Crème sheen lipstick so it is really moisturising and it is a great everyday shade.

4. Revlon Lip Butter - Strawberry Shortcake - I have a few of these in different shades and they are just like tinted lip balms and they are great for those days when you haven't got much make up on and your just chilling in the garden.

5. Rimmel Apocalips - Nova - I love this shade, I love its lasting power, I love its 2 in 1 lipstick/gloss I just love it !!

Please leave a comment letting me know your favourite summer shades!

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser

Recently my skin has been really bad, I have been suffering from breakouts I'm not sure if it caused my the change in weather or just my hormones but it has been worst than normal and my usual daily skin care routine just doesn't seem to be doing the job.
In this weather I would love more than anything to just be able to put on a bb cream and go out but I just don't feel comfortable I need something with more coverage but I think it may just be making things worst.

So this weekend whilst I was off work and just sat around the garden I thought I would give my skin a rest from make-up. So I just used a moisturiser with an SPF and let my skin "breathe".
I have spent the whole weekend pampering my skin with face masks, exfoliators and the newest thing to my collection is this Neutrogena Wave. I got it from Home Bargains so it was only £1.99 this included the power cleanser, a battery and 14 cleansing pads so it lasts 2 weeks.

You can use this in the shower or just over the sink. All you do is attach a new pad to the wave, rinse it under water and then turn it on and massage it over your face using circular motions.
It feels quite relaxing actually it's not too harsh on the skin, it just uses gentle vibrations to open your pores to remove dirt, oil and make up.

I didn't find it foam up that much though it was just a gentle cleanse but I did feel my skin was smoother after just one use!!
I have only used this twice so I can't really say if this is going to help clear up my spots but it did make my skin feel soft and will hopefully prevent anymore breakouts!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer Review

I have heard so much about these lip lacquers and since I have alot of respect for Rimmel as a brand I thought i would give them a go. I have so many lipsticks and lip glosses so I didn't really see the point in buying a product which combines the two together but I'm glad I did!!
The shade I really wanted was the bright pink one called Apocaliptic but they didn't have that one in my store so I got Nova and Nude Eclipse which I love and Galaxy which I'm not to sure about. I find it too dark for my complexion, I usually only wear pink or nudes on my lips and galaxy is more of a deep berry shade.
The lip lacquers themselves are really great products they give you the best of both worlds, giving you the lasting power of a matte lipstick and the shine of a gloss. Although I find that if my lips are even the slightest bit dry then the product seems to stick to those patches but if I apply a lip balm first they go on beautifully.
They don't feel too dry on the lips at first and the actual base ( the lipstick part) seems to set in place and last all day but I do find I have to re apply a gloss over the top to stop my lips from drying out.
From this review it doesn't sound like I really like this product but I do. I think they do a great job at combining a lip stick and gloss together and the shades are lovely. The price is £5.99 and so overall I think they are definitely worth the price and I will be trying to get my hands on Apocaliptic.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama EyeLiner 24H

I normally use a liquid liner but I watched a Tanya Burr YouTube video recently and she used this Gel liner and it looked so amazing I just had to try it!!
I got mine in 01 Intense Black but I think there were a few other shades. The box is actually quite big but when you open it the product is tiny, the liner comes in a little cute frosted pot and it comes with a applicator which to be honest I won't use because I like to apply my eyeliner with a angled brush.
This is a fantastic product, it is like the name states a really Intense Black it is so pigmented!
It is soft enough to apply really nicely but not too soft that it smudges or slips off. It glides really nicely on my lid and once it has dried it won't budge!! It really is 24 hour lasting.
This product is really great for that dramatic smoky eye which I love on a night out but if you apply it in a thin line close to the lash line it can be worn in the day too.
I would definitely recommend this for its lasting power it just lasts forever!!

OOTD - Shopping & Lunch with the Girls

I went shopping today with some friends and so I thought I would show you what I wore. It was a fairly nice day the sun was shinning but it wasn't very warm.

I bought this dress a few weeks ago when the weather was lovely and hot and I just wore it on its own but today I wore my jeans underneath and a cardigan too ( can't believe it's July!!). It was £24.99 which I thought was a really good price.

It's a lovely summery dress from New Look, I love the blue colour and the butterfly pattern is so cute. It makes me feel really comfortable because it goes in at waist then floats over my tummy which I am really self conscious about. It is a little bit too short for me to wear on its own but when the weather I was nice I just wore my shorts underneath and today I put my jeans on. I wore it with a navy cardigan from New look aswell.

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

I have wanted this mascara ever since I started watching youtube beauty videos, all I hear is great things about it. I love my Maybelline Falsies mascara and I didn't see the point in spending more money on a product I may not enjoy using as much. But oh my god I am glad i gave into temptation and bought my most expensive mascara to date, it is definitely well worth the money and the hype that it gets!

This mascara volumizes, thickens and curls my lashes and it doesn't smudge, flake off or dry out.

The brush is what makes this mascara different from my normal drugstore ones. It has a hard spiky brush with staggered bristles which helps you really work into the root of the lashes and give them the length and volume I could only dream of!!

I use this after I have curled my lashes and it really does give them that separated fan look which I thought you could only get using false lashes. It has a thick consistency without becoming too clumpy. The only downside I can possibly think of is that it isn't the darkest black i have ever used.

I would recommend this mascara to anyone and I don't think I will be going back to my drugstore mascara I will be repurchasing this when I run out !

Benefit 15-Hour Stay Flawless Primer Review

I went to Beauty Bazaar Liverpool One this weekend and I picked up a few things. At the Benefit stall if you bought the new primer and another product you got a free goody bag with a full sized lipgloss in!
So I bought the Primer which is part of the new Flawless range and a new They're Real Mascara.
This is different to any primer I have ever used as I normally like a gel based primer but I thought I would give this a try as it felt so smooth and moisturising on my hand. It comes in a tube with a twisting mechanism which means its easy to use and less product is wasted and the size means it is great for fitting in your make up bag.

You use the stick in circular motions all over your face and when you first apply this it feels very sticky and horrible on the skin but you can actually feel it is making a barrier on your skin and when you apply your foundation ( I don't use Benefit Foundation so don't worry this will work with your usual foundation too) it feels like a magnet sticking to your skin then the sticky feeling disappears and the primer seems to harder locking the foundation in place. I suffer with very dry skin and this didn't irritate my skin at all in fact it helped to smooth over my dry patches ready for my foundation.
I really do question anything that says it will make your make up stay on for 15 hours but to be honest this Primer really did help keep my foundation from going patchy and flaky throughout the day and if you have a foundation that you like but doesn't have great lasting power I would try it with this Primer and I'm sure you will see a difference.
This is an essential for a night out or a special occasion where you want you foundation to be locked in place for a long time but I wouldn't rely on it for 15 hours although I don't believe any product can do that!!
This product has really impressed me and I will definitely be trying the Hello Flawless Foundation!

Let me know if you have tried this new primer and what you thought

Sleek Face Form Contouring Kit Review

I have to say I buy most of my drugstore products from Boots because of the advantage points but I do make a special trip to Superdrug every now and then to have a look at the Sleek stand. I think Sleek are one of my favourite drugstore brands and they are probably one of the cheapest too.
I think all the products have fantastic packaging and I think Sleek do a great job of creating dupes for high end products, like the packaging for example which is just like NARS.
I love all the blushes they do, they are highly pigmented and they do a wide range of
shades for all skin tones my favourites are Pixie pink and Pomegranate and unbelievable they are only £4.49!
I use the Brow kit from Sleek which is only £8.49 and I would say it is just as good as the HD brow palette. I don't understand how high end brands can put such hefty price tags on products that do the same job as drugstore dupes.
The most recent purchase I made from Sleek was there Face Form Contouring Kit for £9.99. This palette consists of a contouring powder, Highlighting powder and Rose Gold blush ( which is a gorgeous shade). I love this palette it is so handy to have three products all in one place especially for travelling. The mirror in it is huge which is great for when I'm on the train and I want to do my makeup.
The bronzer is supposed to be a dupe for NARS Laguna and I think the colour of it is a great match, (its not too orange) but it's not as pigmented, the highlighting powder is perfect its not too shimmery it just gives a nice glow. I just apply it to the top of my cheek bones.
Then the blush is the star in this palette, it is a gorgeous shimmery golden pink shade. It is highly pigmented so you hardly need any product on your brush so this will last you forever!

If you haven't already tried out a Sleek product I would definitely recommend the brand, it makes fantastic high end dupes for a really affordable price.

My Top 5 Summer Nail Polishes

I love it when the sun comes out and I can start to wear my bright clothes and my fake tan! And what's even better is you can start to switch up your make up routine slightly, using more bright shades on the eyes, lips and nails.
I have to admit I cant pull off bright eye shadow it just doesn't suit me so I tend to stick to my neutral eye shadows and play around with some colour on my lips and nails.
In the Summer I change my nail colour nearly everyday because I like to wear bold colours I find that they don't match all my outfits so I do have to change it up more often but I love a new look everyday!
Just so you know I wear OPI Nail Envy as my base coat and OPI top coat with all these.

Loreal Paris Color Riche - So Chic Pink - I love this colour its a pink coral colour that is just fab for summer as it looks great when I have tanned. As for the polish it has a good thick brush, stays on really well without chipping and the colour is really strong even with one coat. I just wish the bottles were bigger they are only 5ml and even when there is some left in the bottom it is normally hard to get out.
They are £4.99 from Boots.

This is another Loreal Color Riche - Flashing Lilac - This is my favourite I absolutely love the colour and it goes with most things I wear, It is a bright lilac pink colour. It really vibrant and shiny. Definitely would recommend this shade.

The next two are from the Barry M Gelly Hi shine Collection. I have a few shades but these are my favourites - Greenberry and Blueberry. I love these polishes they are super pigmented you only need one coat and they stay on forever without chipping. It really is like having a gel manicure but cheaper as these are only £3.99 each and they are normally on some sort of offer in Boots or Superdrug! The colours are really unique and Barry M have a really wide range of shades to choose from.

The last one I want to show you is a Leighton Denny Polish in the colour Leading Lady. It is a lot more neutral than the others but you always need a soft pink nude in your collection and this is my favourite. This goes on really nicely and is highly pigmented and super shiny but without a top coat this won't even last me til the end of the day but if you wear it with a good top coat it is fine. I love how I can wear it with anything and it still looks like a summer nude.

Let me know what your favourite summer polishes are :)

Loreal Lumi Magique Primer & Foundation Review

I actually bought the Primer from this collection a while ago and I loved it but I started using my Nivea Hydration Primer which is amazing for my dry skin so unfortunately it just went to the back of my drawers but when I recently bought the foundation I thought I would try using them together. This can be used under or over foundation to give you that "glow from within" look. I use it as a primer under my foundation and even with a different foundation it gives luminosity and radiance to the skin but using it with the foundation from the collection it just looks great on my dry skin. I don't think it really acts as a primer it doesn't hold my foundation in place for any longer than without it but it is more of a highlighter I would say.

I bought the Lumi Magique Light Infusing Foundation from Boots about a week ago and I have used it everyday I really do love it! I suffer from dry skin so I never want to wear a matte foundation I like that natural dewy finish but of course there is a difference between a natural glow and looking oily. This foundation gets the balance right its a medium to full coverage with a natural finish and its not oily or heavy at all.
I don't really like to wear a powder as I feel it clings to my dry patches so I  need a foundation that will last without it and this definitely does, maybe not as much as my favourite foundation of all time Jemma Kidd Light as Air but for £10.99 it is a lot cheaper and still does a great job.
I went for a shade darker than I would normally because I have fake tanned and it matches really well, I think there are only 6 shades which is a slight let down.
I think this foundation applies really nice with my fingers so I can really work it into my skin, I love the glow it gives your skin but I would be careful if you do have oily skin as this may be too shiny you cold try using a powder but to be honest I think there are better foundations out there for oily skin.

Naked 2 Urban Decay Vs MUA Undress Me Too Eye Shadow Palettes

I bought the Urban Decay Naked 2 about 3 months ago and I have used it every single day since. I absolutely love it, it's great for day looks with it range of matt nude shades but it's also great for that smoky eye with the lovely dark shimmery shades. My favourite shades are Booty Call (as a brow highlighter), Half Baked (which is great in the inner corner), YDK (which I love all over the lid) and then Busted and Blackout (for the outer crease). If you like bright colours on your eyes then this is not for you but if you like natural shades this will be perfect for you!

The palette is £35 and I would definitely say it is worth every penny but if you want it to last you I would definitely recommend buying the MUA Undress me too palette as it is only £4 and some of the shades are actually so similar its untrue. I have been using this everyday for work and just using my Naked 2 for special occasions. If I had to choose between them then of course I would go with my Naked 2 as the shades are slightly more pigmented especially the lighter shades and the packaging is a lot better plus it comes with a really good eyeshadow brush but in my opinion if you want a back up or a cheaper version then the MUA palette is brilliant!

I think Corrupt in the MUA palette is rubbish actually and really lets it down because I love using Blackout in the Naked 2 its great for in the outer crease, and under the bottom lashes too.

Please leave comments and if you have tried both then let me know what you thought :)
